It seems that it does not work as it should. Example:
$ ./builder -bb ant-contrib
...

+ find-jar xercesImpl

Could not find the requested jar or jar directory.
Please check the correct JAVA_HOME is set.

$ rpm -qa | grep java-sun
rpm -qa | grep java-sun
