It breaks for either SMP Linux or Linux on a single processor machine with
the LAPIC enabled, at least with 2.4.x.

I haven't even looked into fixing it, myself, but will certainly have a look
after integration of the new virtualization scheme is done.  Anyone else
is welcome to look into it.
