BTW: it's really the =first= start of plex86. That one, wich aborts with the
"ioctl ALLOCVPHYS: : Cannot allocate memory" message and doesn't run the
guest os at all! Plex86 works at the second attempt, but the "int $80" call
is already broken then. 

Could plex86 overwrite the $80 interrupt vector address (what would this
be? probably not 0x80?) or the place where "int $80" normaly points to?
How can I check this? I was an experienced system/assembler programmer on
the 68000, but I'm a total newbie on the 386.  :-/   gdb doesn't want to show
me arbitrary values from the memory, because there's "no symbol table" or
"Cannot access memory at address 0x80" ...   :-(
