Hello Kevin,

My Compaq hat off: From reading the IA64 docs on the web you could come to
the conclusion that running native IA32 code on a IA64 would be a dog. In
the IA32 section it indicates the IA64 will execute one IA32 instruction per
instruction bundle. This put Bochs in an interesting position. Bochs has two
really interesting things going for it, first is the IA32 emulation and
second are the I/O devices.

Plex is also a very relevant product, it just doesn't apply much to IA64.
It looks to me that you need another two or three people working for/with
you. But I don't know how that works in the Opensource world.

Question: If I wanted to take Plex or Bochs and use pieces of it to make a
product how would the work? Can you give me some different ways this might work?

Have you looked at the Hercules S390 emulator?

Regards, Mitch Wright
