I'm new to plex but very impressed with how well it works. last night i got it to
boot off of a freedos boot disk. i am however having trouble working with a
harddrive.

i've tried using both a image file and my drdos /dev/hda1. in both cases it tells me
that c is an invalid drive.

image file:
i followed the "dos howto" from the archives(you really need to post that where it is
easier to find) and created the
62MB, 940 8 17 127840 image with the dd command. no problem.
i booted with the freedos disk that i made from the plex86 download page. no problem.
it asked me if i wanted to run install. i ran install. i gave the a: as the source
and c: for the destination. it started to run and crashed. i tried to run fdisk to
set up the image. fdisk did not like my diskc. i tried format which also failed.
i realize that i'm being vague but is there a standard way to prep the image that i
did not do?

booting to /dev/hda1:
in the line where i spec the cylinders, heads, sectors/track, and sectors. do i call
out the total for the entire drive or just the partition?
has anyone booted to drdos?

all help is appreciated
thanks
     phrostie
