I'm running RedHat 7 (kernel 2.2.16-22, glibc-2.2-5), and trying to install
RH7 under plex (just for the hell of it). I can boot from the floppy boot
image (boot.img) but when it hits the /sbin/loader stage of install (expert
mode) plex kabooms with...

bochs: KBD: LED status set to 00
bochs: disk: aborting on command 0xec {CD-ROM}
bochs: disk: aborting on command 0xec {CD-ROM}
bochs: floppy: DMA and interrupt capabilities disabled
bochs: initialize drive params
bochs:   sector count = 63
bochs:   drive select = 0
bochs:   head number = 15
bochs: panic, cdrom: MODE SENSE (curr), code=e
Shutting down plugins
bochs: Note: X11: bx_gui_c::exit() not implemented yet.
Unmapping guest physical memory.
Unmapping monitor print buffer.
Tearing down VM
Closing VM

Looks like the cdrom panic is the problem? I compiled with --enable-cdrom,
and the boot floppy reports its presence as "hdb: Generic 1234, ATAPI CDROM
drive". Conf file is based on the linuxhd one, but changed the following...

memory = 16
bochs-opt boot: a
bochs-opt floppya: 1_44=../../boot.img, status=inserted
bochs-opt diskc: file=../../hd.img, cyl=1024, heads=16, spt=63
bochs-opt cdromd: dev=/dev/cdrom, status=inserted

I'm using the most up to date CVS, and FreeDOS HD image works fine (just
to prove it is generally working ok on my system), and I've never had any
problems with the cdrom drive under linux before.

I searched the mailing list and didn't find mention of the same problem,
so thought it worth mentioning.

Any help appreciated. And congrats to all the plex86 peeps, good stuff.

ttfn,
John
