I'll check out the patches tomorrow.
While it's a good idea to break up the bochs plugin, it needs to
be done with some solid architectural design in mind. The plugin
hierarchy should resemble real PC hardware hierachy, perhaps
based on PCI.
Before doing anything in that area, post your thoughts on
how you want to orient things, and get some reactions.
