It's not just "kinda" slow, unfortunately. I don't know how slow it is, but 
on my 800MHz Athlon, it wouldn't match a 286, and I'm not sure if it would 
surpass a 8088 yet (not tested, though. only a subjective thought).

The reason is that though Bochs and Plex86 share the same author (Kevin), 
the same device set, the core is radically different and is yet in its 
early ages, where performance is not the goal. Ultimately, maybe as soon as 
the next revision Kevin is working on right now, Plex86 will probably be 
way faster than Bochs, but if you need something you can use, it isn't the 
way to go.

Of course, since both are simulating a real PC, whatever you work on will 
work on both, unless there are some bugs in the host software.

Again, see for yourself. It's thrilling to see such a piece of software 
really work!
