Try using a LINUX boot disk image...... I used TOMSRTBT (www.toms.net).
Just take the image file (tomsrtbt.raw) and mount it as the A: drive.
It has everything that you should need to get started building a drive
image. If you wish to fully install an OS on the partition that you use
to test plex86, it has been suggested many times on this list to (for
the moment anyway) use plex86's sister (maybe more approprately
grandmother) product: Bochs. Then you can mount an ISO (or a real
CD-ROM) and load the OS from there.
I built my drive images another way entirely, but I'm not going to get
into that too much unless somebody is interested in finishing some
_really_really_messy_ hack-work.
