I have to say at first I thought the free/non-free split was unnecessary
confusion and complication. A year later, I have revised my opinion.
It really brings clarity and light to the differences between them, and
adds very little complication to rpm configuration. So, kudos.

As of late, it's been bothering me that many apps we package are neither
patent encumbered nor non-free. They simply require apps in one of the
prior two categories. Should they really be subject to PLF defamation?
No. Can they go in Mandriva instead? No. So what to do with them?

A third category? Seems annoying and unnecessary.

But it would be nice if we had some clear way to define what is in PLF
because it is patent encumbered and what is in PLF because it requires
other PLF packages. And description tags are a weak way of doing that.
