Sorry to report this under ivtv-firmware-audio (wrong package) on Cooker (wrong
os), but your bugzilla interface did not ofer the correct package or OS as an
option.

The correct package is ivtv-firmware-enc, the corect OS is Mandriva 2008.1,
'spring'.

Here is the error from /var/log/syslog:

Apr 12 19:08:06 localhost kernel: ivtv0: unable to open firmware
v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw (must be 376836 bytes)
Apr 12 19:08:06 localhost kernel: ivtv0: did you put the firmware in the
hotplug firmware directory?

Here is what I have installed:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# rpm -qa | grep -i 'ivtv'

kernel-desktop-devel-2.6.22.9-1mdv-1-1mdv2008.0

I did a quick internet search and it seemed this might be a kernel problem, but
since the firmware package is from plf it seemed prudent to start here. The
same hardware works great under 2008.0.

Thanks.
