It is true that nowadays we have lots of packages in PLF that aren't maintained anymore due to a lack of manpower (both on packaging and administration side), and may thus be old versions or no longer working. However, I'm not aware of any packages that could "seriously hurt Mandriva 2011.0" in any way.
