I think that's completely fine and follows Plone's structures, you just need
to know it. 
I wrote a short usage-doc, too.

Indeed! For wkhtmltopdf f.e. it's as simple as putting this in the
controlpanel of c.ebook:

   $ wkhtmltopdf - -
