Latter, indeed, community.p.o is another inbox for me, so if that
discourse thing becomes mainstream I'll look at it once a month or if
someone points me to it at IRC or by mail. This ML was on an almost
daily (say 4 times a week) read. And using gmane made it very
comfortable to read and keep all ends together.
I'll use the github issue tracker for products I manage. I'll just point
this out in the READMEs of products I'am maintainer of and done.
- People who need help can't be bothered to jump through the umpteen
hoops to set up Nabble or subscribe to Mailman / don't want lots of mail
in their inbox after they posted their questions
(Or use NNTP) This is possibly true. But OTOH they get support for free.
Can we expect some 'work' done by the people who need help? But does
discourse solve this? Needs user/login too.
This impedance mismatch is always going to be a problem. We had the same
concern when we moved a lot of the plone-user type content to
Stackoverflow, though in general I think that's been a positive move. I
Well, and now we have yet another platform?

hope this will be too.. We may just need to decide whether want to
require our users to come to us, or if we want to come to our users, though.

i'm checking it out right now.
