Thanks ctxlken for this info on the updated easyslider and the pinning--I'll probably use that in my new buildout. I found out that the problem was that I didn't have easyslider in the new buildout but had been in the old one. Once I added easyslider (and most all the other products from the old buildout) to the new buildout, re-ran buildout, things worked!
