It is unfortunate that so much effort and time is wasted in senseless
discussion on "which version of Windows" is best/most suited to
implementation of Plone CMS.

Almost all the discussion has centred on "desktop" versions of Windows
which makes absolutely no sense and is useless for learning best
configurations for more permanent for final website setup, especially as
Windows "desktops" do not have - for example - proxy or caching
functionality, fine grained authentication/security framework and other
tools essential for quality CMS solution.

On more than one occasion, I have recommended to Microsoft Windows
(only) technologist that they install Plone on a "hardly used or
discarded" small (low specification) PC with a _/very simple/_/*Linux*/
install process (e.g. Fedora Linux). This had many advantages in
allowing the person to access Plone on Linux server/_via Windows desktop
PC_/. No stopping Plone process to run Office suite or other end-user
application in Windows desktop install, and many of afore-mentioned
necessary configurations can be made on the Linux server.
