Hi,

try as mentionned the executable python 2.7 that you can find in /usr/bin/python or /usr/bin/python2.7 or wathever.

But UnifiedInstaller comes with his own python, try adding relevant zlib libraries thru synaptic...

Have a nice day,

I am attempting to install Plone 4.2.1, using the Unified installer, on
Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit.

I run:
./install.sh standalone

I get:
 "LookupError: unknown encoding: zip
Python zlib support is missing; something went wrong in the zlib or python
build."

I have tried the old patches suggested when this problem cropped up with
installs on 11.04, but it does not work.

I have also tried the 'switch' suggested by Steve McMahon:

"Note that if you have an acceptable Python on your system already (or can
install one), you may use "--with-python=/path/to/Python-2.6" on the
install.sh command line."

by adding "--with-python=/usr/lib/python2.7/"

but then get:

"Error: '/usr/lib/python2.7/' is not an executable. It should be the
filename of a Python binary."

So now I, being a noob-type, am stumped ... :)

Any suggestions on how to make either approach work will be appreciated!
