That would be great. The conversion should be easy, the testing is the hard part. To help you with that, apparently there is a tool called svn2cl (http://ch.tudelft.nl/~arthur/svn2cl/). If cvs2cl for the cvs repo and svn2cl for the converted subversion repo give the same commit messages back to the first, that would go a long way toward convincing people that the conversion had been done correctly without losing any of the history.
