I would like to thank Geoffrey for administrating the plplot-cvs mailing
list for the last 7 years. I think it is appropriate that he got first post
to that list with his 2000-05-10 20:36 commit message. We established this
mailing list to mail out CVS commit messages to help developers keep track
of the up-to-the-minute details of PLplot development. The plplot-cvs
mailing list continues with exactly that same role for commit messages (and
commit diffs) for our current svn repository. So plplot-cvs is a misnomer
now, but it is impossible to change its name, and I don't want to delete
plplot-cvs and start yet another list with everybody having to resubscribe
so I have contented myself with changing the description to refer to svn
commit messages.

I have now taken over admin responsibility for plplot-cvs from Geoffrey and
just reconfigured this list similar to the way I have configured the present
plplot-devel mailing list (my only other mail admin responsibility for
PLplot). My expectation is plplot-cvs will "just work" with the new
configuration, but if you notice any peculiar symptoms with plplot-cvs (or
plplot-devel, for that matter), let me know. I also urge anyone wanting to
keep track of the (minute!) details of PLplot development to subscribe to
plplot-cvs. This current list (plplot-devel) is the one you should
subscribe to if you are more interested in the overview of Plplot
development.
