I agree rotation of 3D plots should be high on the interactive wish list. Which reminds me another 2D (and 3D) capability should be to interactively change the world coordinates. So for a long spectrum, for example, where you are only plotting a small subset of the spectrum in the window you could smoothly slide the coordinates of the window right or left with smoothly varying speeds under interactive control to quickly move to other parts of the spectrum. We should also think about the best way to organize the new interactive code we are talking about since potentially all interactive devices would want to use that code.
