I have implemented additional changes (revision 8180) to make the
cmake_link_flags module more robust and to automatically apply it to all
pkg-config link flag results delivered by our pkg_check_pkgconfig macro.
Everything seems to work fine for me on Linux, but the change is now
propagated to much more than just the cairo devices so please test as
thoroughly as possible on all platforms accessible to you.
