To be specific, I was hoping to get help with java, octave, perl, ada, 
lua and D.

The python and tcl examples should be up to date. I did notice though, 
at least with the Python examples, that the requested color palettes are 
ignored for the first example. I'm puzzled as to why this is happening 
since the color palette functions are called at more or less the same 
time as they are in the C examples.
