What version of Qt4? Here is the summary of the discussion in README.release on Qt4 version issues. "In sum, Qt-4.4.3 is worth trying if it is already installed on your machine, but if you run into any difficulty with it please switch to Qt-4.5.x (once Qt-4.5.x is installed all you have to do is to put the 4.5.x version of qmake in your path, and cmake does the rest). If the problem persists for Qt-4.5, then it is worth reporting a qt bug." Follow up on the context of the above quote to see how you can install Qt4.5.x. I get good-looking results with it.
