Thanks for this. I've already applied your previous patch to svn so
it will be in 5.9.5 to be released imminently. The final update is
no longer required since example 3 has been changed. The relevant
bit of code (which I agree was quirky) has been replaced by calls
to the new plarc function. Hopefully the next release will work fine
with octave 3.2. If you are able to test the svn version in the next
day or two to confirm this it would be useful.
