Thanks.  Do you know what the size limit is on attachments sent to  
the list?

git makes it easy to send patches as attachments :-), but it doesn't  
seem to have an easy way to send patches as compressed attachments :- 
(.  I'll probably end up sending small patches to the list  
uncompressed (easy), medium patches to the list compressed (not so  
easy), and large patches to an appropriate committer off-list and  
compressed (not so easy) unless the committer doesn't mind  
uncompressed patched (easy again).  I hope this will not bother anyone.
