Hi Andrew, I would expect problems, since gdc is not maintained anymore (http://dgcc.sourceforge.net/, last update 2007). There are plans to update it or even to add official D support to gcc, but it seems nothing happened (yet?).
I would suggest that you use the offical D compiler by digitalmars.com (http://www.digitalmars.com/d/download.html) but use Version 1, since Version 2 is not stable (even the language specifications are not stable, and examples are written for Version 1). I use(d) it on Windows and Mac OS X and the digitalmars.com compiler just works fine with our CBS and examples. That's unfortunate that gdc seems to be broken, but it's not maintained anymore.
