This is related to the fact that the script on the wiki attempts to build 4 combinations of libraries (SHM On/Off, DEBUG On/Off). If I build only (one|any) of these the build completes, otherwise it fails on the first DEBUG build. I suspect that it is pulling in a wrong library/manifest at some point and getting confused. Otherwise I am a 'happy bunny' as I can build plplot with Python bindings and libgd support and have it create a '.png' chart .... just need to work out how to deploy now ;-) Working script attached.
