I had no trouble with ctest just before the release
when using PDL 2.4.7 and PDL-Graphics-PLplot 0.52.  Similarly, all the
other perl/pdl tests I did with the comprehensive test script also
succeeded.

So I would try the update to 2.4.7 and try again.
