Hi Doug: I doubt that PDL-Graphics-PLplot-0.55 will pass any tests for now other than our own because it is only compatible with the svn trunk version of PLplot, and it is unlikely automatic testing procedures are using that version. See remarks in examples/perl/README.perldemos about the necessity of installing the latest version of PLplot. For now you should say that PDL-Graphics-PLplot-0.55 is incompatible with PLplot-5.9.7 or earlier and requires the svn trunk revision 11742 (or later) version of PLplot. Once we release PLplot-5.9.8, it will have an appropriate soversion bump for our principal C library to warn users/testers of the backwards-incompatible API changes (e.g., in pllegend) since the release of PLplot-5.9.7. And at that point, you should spell out that PDL-Graphics-PLplot-0.55 requires PLplot-5.9.8. By the way, we are not yet in a position to decide when PLplot-5.9.8 should be released. Hez and I are still trying to finalize the new plcolorbar API, and Hazen is working on adding important string length (in mm) functionality to the qt device driver so that our pllegend results will look just as good for the qt devices as they currently do for the cairo devices. Both the plcolorbar and qt projects are somewhat open-ended, but I am hoping they will not take too much longer so that we can release 5.9.8 fairly soon. Alan __________________________ Alan W.
