Hi Alan,

ah, there was something strange going on. I removed
the files (I thought) via the SVN client I have, but it
insisted on removing the directory as well.

Yes, I needed the help of the gfortran mailing list
to put me on track. Luckily they did - it would have
cost me a lot of trouble to reproduce it in a small
enough example I guess (the first trial, some dummy
routines, was unsuccessful).
