Hi Aleksander:

I am forwarding your post to the plplot-devel list as you requested.
If you want to participate in the further discussion there, please
subscribe to that list.

As a first comment, our extcairo device is only
tested by one example. See examples/c/ext-cairo-test.c with
some context given in examples/c/README.cairo.
That example only uses default font sizes (which look fine in
the resulting ext-cairo-test.ps), but it is entirely
possible if you experimented further with that example, you
might confirm (or deny) the plschr and plssym issues
you have reported.

If you could demonstrate the problem for a slightly modified version
of examples/c/ext-cairo-test.c, then it would be a lot easier for us
to debug it further.

Alan

Subject: plplot & BRITE satellite

Hi,
I apologise to not writing to the proper forum as I am newbie in this field.
I am trying to use plplot+cairo+(gtk-fortran)+gfortran(95) to get
som gui for the BRITE satelite constellation software (with UBC participation,
too).
My problem is wrong font/symbol size, insensitive to plschr & plssym.
I am not even sure it is plplot problem. I am running the
jerryd-gtk-fortran-5af09d1/graphics/plplot/hl_plplot1e.f90 example with
extcairo device and the set_background=1 line commented out to prevent cairo
complaining. I got correct plots in the gui window but all
labels/titels/symbols are oversize by a large factor. plschr & plssym do have
some effect, as they change width of margin left for labelling, but no effect
to the fontsize.

I am on ubuntu 11.10, plplot 5.9.5, gtk-2-fortran and cairo:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2.11000.2
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpangocairo-1.0.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0.2903.0

Could you pls forward it to the correct addres?
Best regards,
Alex Schwarzenberg-Czerny
