I have just implemented (but not yet committed) an epa_build option
for running the comprehensive test script for PLplot after PLplot (and
PLplot "lite") are built and installed by epa_build.

That comprehensive testing of epa_build results for PLplot immediately
showed some additional PLplot build-system inconsistency issues (at
least for the "lite" version of PLplot) that I believe it is important
to get fixed before this release goes out the door.  I will try to
figure out a fix tomorrow (Friday).

Obviously this issue is an additional source of uncertainty about
release timing beyond what we have already discussed today. Therefore,
the subject line may not be correct any more, but we will see!
