Not sure.

We don't have an offical roadmap, but, yes, that is an obvious next
step for one of our best and most well-supported device drivers.  Qt5
is not available for Debian stable (the platform I run), but it is
available for Debian testing (what will turn into the next Debian
stable release) and other cutting-edge Linux versons so I agree it
would be a good idea for us to get ready for it.

Currently I have no idea whether the API changes between Qt4 and Qt5
affect us or not (see the first answer).  According to
<http://qt-project.org/wiki/Transition_from_Qt_4.x_to_Qt5> the
differences should not be huge.  So by all means give Qt5 a
try (assuming you have access to it).  If it works, fine. If not, we
would be most interested in any patch you implement to make PLplot
build and run without issues against Qt5.
