Hi,
One year ago I asked if it would be possible to have 'plstrl' made public in a
next release, since, being private, it is not available in distributions that
enforce -fvisibility=hidden.
You kindly answered that you should go instead is to withdraw plstrl and
replace it with a public API function called pl_get_string_extent which returns
both the x and y extents of the character string.
I now realize that it is all the more important to have X and Y since plplot
handles text that can be broken in several lines, and we have such needs.
Is there some hope to have that public API available soon?
Best regards,

Gilles Duvert
