I agree with your opinion on git-bisect.

I also used git-bisect to find the source of this regression, but not
only did you beat me to reporting that, but you also spotted the exact
issue with that commit and fixed it.  Count me as impressed by your
effort, and thanks!

By the way, this fix not only fixed the example 2 page 2 issue for all
devices, but it also fixed the text size issue for examples, 19, 23
and 28 for the pdf device. Therefore, I have closed that particular
pdf bug report as fixed.
