OK.  I have pushed [d64d9c6] for now to revert your "multiple keypress
bug on page advance" fix for the cairo device driver, and you should
be able to straightforwardly revert d64d9c6 post-release as a start to
finding the right approach for getting the multiple keypress bug on
page advance fixed for the cairo device driver without compromising
the test_extXdrawable target result.

Late in release cycles like this there is lots of time pressure on the
release manager to make quick decisions so my thanks for the immediate
responses you made to my questions about this tricky issue.
