I am building plplot 5.9.0 on two RedHat Enterprise linux systems, IA64 Enterprise 4, and x86_64 Enterprise 5. I am able to build and link executables using plplot *.so libraries installed as system level libraries. However, for a number of reasons, my system strongly prefers tightly controlled static libraries to shared objects. Instead of using plplot shared objects installed in system level /usr/lib directories, they want to control the plplot package within an SVN repository and include the library directories and static library files as SVN external objects attached to the applications that need it. Can I configure plplot to build only static lib*.a libraries and no shared object libraries to support this requirement? If so, what options should I feed to Cmake to accomplish this? Thanks!
