Note that the high level interface for PLplot does not allow you to tweak
histograms or bargraphs. However, almost all of the low-level commands
should work, as demonstrated in the Perldl code for Example 12. If you find
a natural way to extend the current histogram and bargraph plotting that is
fairly consistent with the other high level commands, I'm sure developers on
the PDL mailing list would be happy to accept patches.
