X11, also known as XQuartz now, is no longer included as part of Xcode, as of, I think 10.7 (Lion). It has to be installed separately. (But it is still supported by Apple.) I don't know if MacPorts installs it for you. I recommend also contacting the MacPorts list directly: macports-us...@lists.macosforge.org The people there are quite good with help of this kind.
