But only if it doesn't require the Sony SDK (and I expect that you
have to use the SDK to support the HW). If it is necessary to have
access to the SDK then it will not be included in the main version
of the viewer.

The reason I don't want to include any code that depends on the Sony
SDK is that you have to register with their developer program to get
access to the SDK. Also, unless I read more into the license than it
actually says it will not be possible to distribute source code that
uses the Sony SDK.

The license says that I may develop software compatible with Sony
PDA and distribute it in *object code form*.

That would make it impossible to ever include support for any Sony
product. Anyway, even if it is possible to distribute source code
that uses the Sony SDK I will still not include support in the main
version, because of the requirements to get acess to the SDK.

Handera is an excellent example on how a company can make it easy
for developers to develop for their product -- their SDK can be
downloaded from their web page without any extra hassle. Sure, you
still have to register to get acess to the ROM file, but that I can
accept. It's a simple online registration, unlike Palm that (for
non-US residents) requires you to sign paperwork that seems to include
everything except giving away your first-born (maybe that, too) ;-)
