  Even if you don't tell us what OS you are running we would be very
  surprised if it's not Red Hat 7.0 or 7.1. (we're working on finding out
  what exactly causes this on Redhat systems). There appears to be something
  wrong with the Python version included in Red Hat 7.0 and 7.1. Try to
  install the Python 2.0 rpm from python.sourceforge.net and try again.
