Yep, that's my goal, too.

Yes, we could design a custom font for the Palm viewer that includes a
number of characters.  And that could expand the number of special
characters we could handle on the Palm.  But isn't there already a
Symbol font for Palms?

Is it really a good idea to go down the path of trying to provide all
the Unicode support that the OS should provide anyway?  Does PalmOS 4.0 
make this any easier?

Those characters are control characters, and so have no corresponding
glyphs.
