Interesting. I pluck the same slashdot.org/palm site, get the comments and never go off the site. I'm able to read everything, the db doesn't get too large (150 or so pages plucked), and it doesn't follow the offsite links. I'm using the standard plucker to do this. I use the stayonhost option with a staybelow. I don't want the images anyways, so I don't care about them anyways.
