Not really a dev question, but...

As far as I know, Plucker does not yet natively
support VFS for Palm M50X or Sony Clie users. Not sure
about CF support for Visor, but I doubt it. HOWEVER,
for VFS support you can use a couple of programs I've
used to read Plucker DBs from the card-- MSMount and
PiDirectVFS.

MSMount is freeware that will allow you to access data
files (e.g., documents and databases) stored on the
card with applications that have not been modified to
do so. You can download it from Palmgear at
http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=29216.
My only complaint is that it is slow with my Plucker
DBs that are more than 500Kb.

PiDirectVFS is commercial software that allows you to
directly run applications and access read-only
databases stored on the expansion card without the
need to transfer the complete program or data file to
internal memory on the handheld device prior to being
used. It's $20US but well worth it due to it's speed
advantage over MSMount. I compared loading a 1MB
Plucker DB with both MSMount and PiDirectVFS. MSMount
took 27 seconds. PiDirectVFS took 2 seconds! It only
reads the portion of the DB needed at any given time.
I hope VFS implementation in Plucker follows the same
path. Definitely has my vote. You can download it from
Palmgear at
http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=35506920010728025803&prodID=29100.
Note that you have to purchase and register to get
full use of the program. Otherwise, you're limited to
only 20 files you can use on the card and use of only
the PiDirect directory. . .

. . .which brings me to another important point. You
will need a file manager such as Filez or McFile to
create directories, move files, rename files, etc.
Filez is freeware and can be downloaded at
http://www.nosleep.net/download/filez.zip. McFile has
a better interface and some advantages over Files. It
was in development and is now going commercial. You
can download the latest version at
http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~imazeki/palm/McFL/data/McFL20.zip.
Registration is $12US.

Hope this helps. Right now, I'm using a combination of
PiDirectVFS and Filez until I can evaluate the new
McFile version.
