Because IMHO a Program should only modify its own created settings not
the ones _i_ created for other reasons.

But if i create some secions for my own use (using for calling
plucker-build from scripts) i do not wan't to show them in
plucker-desktop because i do not need them there to be modified.

You could still write you section in the ini by hand and view them by
plucker-desktop by simply add ovner=plucker-desktop (to stay with my
suggested key), and call it later with plucker-build -s xxx. (But why
you need an GUI if you prefer to edit the config files ;-)

Michael> Why would I want to duplicate this info? Whether I gather the data

IMHO this are not duplicating the info. Have a home_url key and say
"this section are for plucker-desktop" are guessing. Having an ovner
key is knowing. :-)

Michael> from within plucker-desktop or by running plucker-build -s <SECTION>
Michael> shouldn't matter.

With my suggestion nothing prevent you from doing that. You create you
channel in plucker-desktop then later you could still call
plucker-build -s xxxx. even if the "ovner" key are there.
