The above was no criticism of the current behavior I was only stating
the facts, i.e. that channels created with the GUI will not always end
up in the channels dir.

Well, since this tool is for the "normal" user this might be a good
idea (minus the despot icon:) That is, always give the Plucker document
the same name as the channel and put it in the channel dir. That would
work just fine for 99% of the users. If you want to be a bit more
flexible you could allow the user to specify a different name, but
still save the document in the channels dir (if a path is specified
it could be removed, so that only the basename is left intact).

This could still be solved using only one option, i.e. a field with
the name (default would be the "autogenerated" name).

I wouldn't mind if we also changed this to be the document name (and
filename) instead of using the channel name as the document name, e.g.
I could have a channel for some online magazine that change every month
and by only changing the name of the document once every a month I
could create separate documents using the same channel. The default
name would still be to equal to the channel name and if the user
doesn't change it we will more or less have the same behavior as today.

Well, all channels have a name, so that could be used to "autogenerate"
a name if no doc_file is given.
