I think David's thoughts for stayondomain and maxlinks are both very sound, and would make good additions. I look forward to when these get implemented. If no one has the time over the next few months to write these features into the parser, I'll put in the time to put them in.
In the meantime, This is the exclusion list that I am using for slashdot (maxdepth of 5 for backup).
