Hi pluckers,

I have been acting as unofficial list moderator for a few weeks now using the new facilities provided by mailman. I've got no problem with doing this (actually I like the job, mostly) and I normally go through the list of pending requests every weeknight.

I just wanted to let people know how I'm treating postings.

I always ignore spam.

Mail to plucker-dev that seems relevant (development) that's from unsubscribed users, I tend to let through. If someone seems to be posting a lot then I generally let it through and ask them to subscribe. Also, I let kudos, comments and bug reports through cos they're nice (for different reasons). Really general stuff like "How do I download this" I reject, generally with a referral to plucker-list.

I let just about everything through to Plucker-list as long as it's not a sub/unsub request and seems to be reasonably plucker-related. Once again if someone who is unsubbed seems to be posting a lot I will ask them to subscribe, mostly because I am lazy.

I think mail to plucker-announce should describe the product in the announcement (seems there's a few addons to plucker these days) as well as whatever has changed. I will generally reject postings to plucker-announce unless they are truly "announcements" which include description of the thing being announced. If we get some feedback generated on plucker-announce I would normally reject it.

The reason I'm posting this is so that you can make objections to what I'm letting through/not letting through. Alternatively you might, for whatever reason, want to depose me from my role and that's fine too, but I'm happy to continue with the job, as my little contribution to the project, for as long as you want me to.

Cheers
Mark
