I've done my homework, I believe, and rtfm, read the READMEand
INSTALLand REQUIREMENTS, and searched the mail archives for "pilot.pm",
but I'm still having trouble building a pdb with images. My
homepage.html will produce a pdb WITH images on Win2k, but not on Redhat
8.0 when using plucker-build. If I use plucker-build.jar, all is fine
and I get my images on either OS. Here's what I have downloaded and
installed:

Redhat 8.0
pilot-link-0.11.5.tar.bz2
jpilot-0.99.3-1.i386.rpm
plucker 1.2-beta13

Here's what is already on the box:
Java 1.4.1
python & python-devel 2.2.1-17
perl 2:5.8.0-5.5
ImageMagik 5.4.7-5
netpbm, netpbm-devel, netpbm-progs 9.24-6

The Plucker REQUIREMENTS also talks about using djpeg from ther
referenceed site ftp://ftp.uu.net/graphics/jpeg/, but there is no top
level file with that name there. Besides, the missing images are gif files.

The pdb builds, there are just no images. When I look for perl.pm, I
cannot find it. Running ./configure for pilot-link produces this
partial output:

  Language Bindings
  ----------------------
  Java support........ : no
  Python support...... : no
  Perl support........ : no

I have searched the README's and INSTALL's for pilot-link and there
seems to be no mention of pilot.pm or enabling the Perl language binding
in the pilot-link distribution. In fact, I'm not even sure this is my
problem, since I have very little experience with a Plucker install on a
Linux box.

Hopefully I have provided enough information. If not ask what you need.
What else do I need to do?

Does is really have to be this hard?

Signed,

Frustrated
