        In 0.01 and 0.02, it was based on C, but in 0.03 and a couple of
later versions, it was converted to a perl conduit by Alexander Wagner.

        I actually like the ability to look at the cache files, without
having to pluck, create pdb, and then unpluck/explode/Debug.py them back
out.
